Indonesia Pavilion announces it’s participation at the spectacular 3-day event in May that will embrace the diversity of all Asian cultures!
On March 18th at the Embassy of Indonesia in London, a presentation was held in the company of H.E. Indonesian Ambassador KCVO, Mr. Teuku Mohammad Hamzah Thayeb to announce Indonesia Pavilion’s participation in the inaugural FestivalAsia event, which will take place at Tobacco Dock on the weekend of Friday, Saturday and Sunday 15th, 16th and 17th May 2015.
For the first time and the first of its kind in the UK, an event encompassing all Asian Cultures will be showcased. Imagine if you are travelling throughout the whole of Asia in few hours for three days, starting from the 15th to the 17th of May 2015, at a fantastic London venue full of character, Tobacco Dock, close to Tower Hill.
“Indonesia is known for its unrivalled sheer tropical beauty, the abundance of its seas, soils and natural resources, the uniqueness of its culture and the sincere hospitality of its people, Indonesia is a world of its own,” said H.E. Indonesian Ambassador KCVO, Mr. Teuku Mohammad Hamzah Thayeb. He added, “Therefore, to reflect the beauty of Indonesia, I suggest the following theme for the Indonesia Pavilion: Indonesia, “Emerald of the Equator.”
The Indonesia Pavilion theme, “Emerald of the Equator” in this Festival Asia debut in May will incorporate the richness of cultural biodiversity, featuring food, fashion, spirituality, arts, dance and music performances, artifacts, health and spas stalls, clothes, spices and much more, including children’s entertainment.
The objectives of the event are to showcase, promote and preserve the unique blend of Indonesia’s flavour to the community cohesion especially in London and further afield.
This Indonesia Pavilion will enhance Indonesia’s profile at the heart of London, – a magnet for leaders of many industries and professions, also for arts and culture lovers from around the globe. This event is a collaborative effort between the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in London with its constituents and Gapura Limited. It aims to attract vendors, exhibitors from Indonesia and the UK to participate at Pavilion Indonesia at Festival Asia in order to promote Indonesia as a cultural tourism destination as well as generate increased visitation.

About FestivalAsia
FestivalAsia will make its debut in May 2015. Based in London, FestivalAsia will be the first of its kind in the UK.
FestivalAsia is set apart by any other event through encompassing all Asian Cultures: you will be entertained, moved, enlightened and find information, resources, products, see performances – all in one day, as if you are traveling throughout the whole of Asia in a few hours!

Over the past few years Tobacco Dock has become a key venue in London, hosting several very popular events (e.g. the Tattoo Convention and the Taste Food festival). FestivalAsia will utilise this beautiful structure to transport our guests to a world away from London and into the Far East – a dream come true.
